12oz Travel Mug - Glass, cork band + Black lid

4 billion to-go cups are thrown away from just Starbucks alone each year! Imagine the total from all coffee shops and other restaurants.

By reusing this coffee travel mug, you’ll be keeping at least 3-5 of your own disposable cups out of our landfills weekly. That is over 200 cups per person, per year.

End of life:

Recycling is the last resort. Reduce. Reuse.

The numbers that appear on plastic products refer to the type of plastic material used. Plastics classified as #7 cannot be recycled domestically in most cases. Our clear plastic tritan and PP #7 components can be commercially recycled.

Polypropylene (PP#5) cup, lids and plugs (LDPE #4) can be recycled through most domestic recycling systems. The glass is tempered, so the annealed surface makes it unfit for recycling. No broken glass is recycled.

Cork bands can go straight into the compost.

On the move:

KeepCup products are designed to replace the disposable cup – not a thermos. They have a splash proof, not a leak proof, seal.

KeepCup Brew was created to deepen the sensory experience of the coffee ritual. Glass is tempered, which means it’s tough – but it’s not unbreakable. A drop, or rapid temperature changes may break or shatter the glass. Do not put cold liquids into a hot glass, or place on a wet cold surface when hot.

More from KeepCup’s story:

The first KeepCups were sold to coffee-loving Melbournians nearly ten years ago at a small, underground design market. The reuse movement grew from there, with the support of the café and roaster community endorsing change.

The goal was always to kick start behavior change, from discard to reuse – to deliver a positive global campaign that would change the status quo. KeepCup has grown from a solution to a problem, to define a product category.

Today, KeepCups are used in more than 65 countries around the world. KeepCup users divert millions of disposable cups from landfill every day, and through their actions inspire others to do the same.

People purchase KeepCups because they love the way they look and feel, and continue to use them because they form a positive habit.

For many of our customers, it has been the beginning of a journey to reduce the consequences of convenience behavior.

For a while there, carrying a KeepCup was like being in a secret club; a nod to aspiration and inspirational behavior for the world. With this positive change established in the mainstream, we now have a greater responsibility to continue to change the sustainability conversation in word and deed.

You are a changemaker. The things you say and ways you live are charting the course for our future.

Thanks for being you. Let’s steer this thing somewhere wonderful.
